SANTINI & TRIO CIRCULA EM PORTUGAL

No dia 05 de julho, às 21:30 a banda brasileira de jazz Santini & Trio estará pela primeira vez no Cascais Jazz Club, apresentando a sua música autoral influenciada pelo Jazz e MPB.
Rony Santini , estará acompanhado pelos músicos Anderson Silva (contrabaixista), Rogério Ferrer (Piano, acordeon e sax) e Flaviano Gallo (baterista).
Os vencedores em 2017 de dois troféus ” Caymmi de Música!, ( Melhor Banda e Melhor Instrumentista ) estão felizes por esta oportunidade de intercâmbio entre Brasil e Portugal!
O Projeto Santini & Trio circula em Portugal foi aprovado na 1ª Chamada do Edital de Mobilidade de 2019, e conta com o apoio financeiro do Governo do Estado, através do Fundo de Cultura, Secretaria da Fazenda e Secretaria de Cultura da Bahia/Brasil.


SANTINI & TRIO IN PORTUGAL

On July 5, at 9:30 pm, the Brazilian jazz band Santini & Trio will be in Cascais Jazz Club for the first time, presenting theire music influenced by Jazz and MPB.
Rony Santini, will be accompanied by Anderson Silva (bass player), Rogério Ferrer (Piano, acordeon and sax) and Flaviano Gallo (drummer).
Caymmi Music Prize winners (2017), as Best Band and Best Instrumentalist, they are happy for this exchange opportunity between Brazil and Portugal!
The Santini & Trio Project “in Portugal” was approved in the 1st Call for Mobility Announcement of 2019, and has the financial support of the State Government, through the Fund of Culture, Secretariat of Finance and Secretariat of Culture of Bahia / Brazil.

GEORGE ESTEVES – piano e voz
Frequentou o curso de Piano e composição da Academia de artes e novas Tecnologias.
Estudou Piano Classico durante cinco anos.
Frequentou os cursos de Piano e Percussão na Esola de Jazz do Hot Club.
Em Inglaterra completou, com distinçao, o curso BTEC National Diploma in Popular Music no Bournemouth and Poole College.
Iniciou-se a actuar em publico, aos 15 anos, como baterista substituto no Casino Estoril,
Durante os dois anos que estudou em Inglaterra, fez parte do quinteto de Jazz «Jazzmania» como baterista.
A solo actuou como cantor e «entertainer» acompanhando-se com sintetizador e piano-solo, em diversos «Pubs» e restaurantes salientando-se o exclusivo Club privado «The Mansion House» em Bournemouth.
Actuou diversas vezes acompanhado pela «Bournemouth Big Band» no «Pavillion Theatre» de Bournemouth e realizou dois espectáculos cantando musica de Frank Sinatra. «Tribute to Frank Sinatra» e «Sinatra Swings Again» acompanhado pela «The Eddie Robinson orquestra».
Desde entao tem actuado em diversos hoteis, casinos e salas de espectaculo na zona de Lisboa.
Artista com quem se apresentou nos últimos anos Renato D´Aiello , Philip Hamilton, Aldo Zunino, Art Themen, Jay Core, Maria Viana entre muitos outros
É pianista residente no Cascais Jazz Club desde 2012 ( interrompeu a residência entre finais de 2016 e princípio de 2017 e , mais recentemente em Outubro de 2018 para ser pianista residente no celebrado clube de jazz londrino Ronnie Scott`s

GEORGE ESTEVESpiano and vocals


George Esteves began his musical career at 15 years as substitute drummer in the Estoril Casino. He studied classical piano for five years, continued study of piano and composition at the Academy of Arts and New Technologies, and also attended piano and percussion courses at the Hot Club Jazz Escola. In England he completed, with distinction, the BTEC National Diploma in Popular Music in Bournemouth and Poole College. During his two years in England, he played drums with the jazz quintet “Jazzmania”. He also performed solo as a singer and entertainer with synthesizer and piano in a number of pubs and restaurants in Bournemouth, including the exclusive private club “The Mansion House”. He was accompanied by the Bournemouth Big Band at the Pavillion Theater in Bournemouth, where he also held two shows singing Frank Sinatra’s music, “Tribute to Frank Sinatra” and “Sinatra Swings Again,” accompanied by the Eddie Robinson Orchestra. Since then he has acted in numerous hotels, casinos and showrooms in the Lisbon area. He has performed in recent years with many artists, including Renato D’Aiello, Philip Hamilton, Aldo Zunino, Art Themen, Jay Core, Maria Viana, among many others. Since 2012 he has been a resident pianist at the Cascais Jazz Club, interrupted in late 2016 and early 2017, and again from October to November 2018, to be a resident pianist at the celebrated London jazz club Ronnie Scott’s.

RODRIGO SANTO – guitarra e voz 

Guitarrista, compositor, arranjador, professor e solista. Estudou na Escola Musiarte do Rio de Janeiro, considerada a Berklee, brasileira. tendo tido paralelamente aulas com o conceituado professor Carlos Café.
Fundador intergrante e compositor da banda Mr. Jam, grupo com enorme êxito no Brasil, contratados pela Sony Music, lançaram três Cds com muito sucesso, e digressões por todo o Brasil, tendo tido vários temas incluídos em novelas e séries da TV Globo.
Sempre atuando na cena jazz, MPB e Bossa nova, tocou ao lado de grandes nomes como Marcio Motarroyos, Airto Moreira e Fernando Vidal entre outros. Paticipou de diversas formações musicais como solista e integrante.
Em Portugal desde 2002, tem acompanhado diversos nomes conhecidos e participado de formações com grandes nomes da musica portuguesa.

CARLOS VEIGA – piano e voz 

Pianista, cantor
Apresenta-se com o repertório de bossa-nova e jazz standards.
Carioca nascido em 1974 se formou no Conservatório brasileiro de Musica,viveu em Miami quatro anos ,vive em Lisboa há dez .
Participou em diversas formações musicais nos circuitos de festivais, clubes,hotéis,festas particulares,fez temporadas em navio cruzeiro.
Atualmente é professor e colabora com diversos projetos musicais.

RODRIGO SANTO – guitar and vocals 

Guitarist and composer (electric and acoustic guitar)
Born in Rio de Janeiro in Copacabana, in the block where Bossa Nova was born, he was influenced by guitarists such as Jimi Hendrix, Mike Stern, Pat Metheny, Romero Lubambo, João Gilberto and Nelson Faria.
He began studying music at age 13, taking private lessons for 9 years, with the virtuoso musician and Brazilian teacher, Carlos Café.
He studied for five years at the renowned “Musiarte” Rio de Janeiro / Brazil (known in the market as “Berklee Brasileira”) directed by musicians and teachers, Isidoro Kutno and Oren Perlin, formed by “Musicians Institute (MI) College of Contemporary Music” And the Berklee College of Music.
He studied “Law” at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC / RIO)
Still very young, he founded and integrated the group Mr.Jam, renowned Brazilian pop band, with which he had the opportunity to play for a long time the Brazilian and South American territory, with shows of his 3Cds released in the Brazilian market, with great success. Sony Music of Brazil and one by Spotlight Records, participated in numerous TV programs, festivals, reports, etc … and opened shows for artists of great renown and public such as Viny, Taleesa and Double You.
In Portugal, since 2001, he made several tours and
Studio recordings with several musicians, such as Anabela, Adriana Rozário, Pedro Moreno Pilar Homem de Melo, among many others.
He participated in the inauguration and first edition of Rock in Rio Lisboa (2004) with Ivo Meireles and the “Bateria da Escola da Samba Estação Primeiro de Mangueira” / Funk’nLata.
He played for two years at Estoril Casino, with Ernesto Leite, Henry Souza and Markus Britto, accompanying singer Dora.


CARLOS VEIGA – piano and vocals

Bossa nova and jazz standards.
Carioca born in 1974 graduated from the Brazilian Conservatory of Music, lived in Miami for four years, lives in Lisbon for ten years.
He participated in several musical formations in the circuits of festivals, clubs, hotels, private parties, cruise ships.
He is currently a teacher and collaborates with several musical projects.
Joachim Ernst Berendt, the writer of a jazz book, said that bossa nova is a combination of samba and cool jazz. Bossa nova is a type of Brazilian music. Bossa nova means literally “new trend”. Antonio Carlos Jobim and João Gilberto developed bossa nova as a genre. The first bossa nova single to achieve international popularity was “The Girl From Ipanema”.
The bossa nova musical style evolved from samba but is more complex harmonically and less percussive. The influence on bossa nova of jazz styles is notorious.
Bossa nova is usually performed on classical guitar and piano. It often performed with percussion and strings.
