Este ano, o Dia Internacional de Solidariedade com o Povo Palestino, dia 29 de Novembro, decorre sob o impacto da catástrofe provocada por mais de 50 dias de bombardeamentos israelitas sobre a Faixa de Gaza. Milhares de mortos, mais de 40% dos quais crianças. Bairros inteiros arrasados e centenas de milhar de desalojados. Hospitais, escolas, infra-estruturas destruídas, num cenário apocalíptico.
A trégua humanitária acordada trouxe um alívio momentâneo, num primeiro resultado importante da pressão popular e da resistência palestina. Mas permanece a incerteza sobre se Israel retomará os bombardeamentos. Em qualquer caso, é necessário manter a mobilização. Mesmo que os bombardeamentos parem, Gaza precisa de quase tudo.
Na quarta-feira dia 29 de Novembro, às 18h no Martim Moniz, vamos exigir:
• um cessar-fogo permanente e definitivo
• que cessem as violências dos militares e colonos israelitas contra os palestinos da Cisjordânia e de Israel
• que seja impedida a expulsão dos palestinos da sua terra
• a ajuda humanitária necessária à Faixa de Gaza
• a libertação de todos os presos palestinos e todos os reféns israelitas
• que seja levantado o infame bloqueio que, desde 2006, transformou a Faixa de Gaza numa prisão a céu aberto
• que seja iniciada a reconstrução da Faixa de Gaza
• que seja finalmente concretizado o direito, tantas vezes prometido pela comunidade internacional mas nunca cumprido, à existência dum Estado Palestino livre e independente, com controlo soberano das suas fronteiras e dos seus recursos.
A concentração de dia 29 iniciar-se-á com uma homenagem aos mortos de Gaza, preparada por elementos da comunidade palestina em Portugal. Outros momentos culturais e intervenções políticas fazem parte do programa.

A Palestina Vencerá!
This year, the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, on November 29, takes place under the impact of the catastrophe caused by over 50 days of Israeli bombing of the Gaza Strip. Thousands have died, over 40% of them children. Entire neighborhoods were razed to the ground and hundreds of thousands of people have been left homeless. Hospitals, schools, infrastructure has been destroyed, creating an apocalyptic scenario.
The humanitarian truce that was agreed brought momentary relief, in a first major result of the popular pressure and the Palestinian resistance. But uncertainty remains over whether Israel will resume bombing. In any case, it is necessary to maintain our mobilization. Even if the bombing stops, Gaza needs almost everything.
On Wednesday, November 29, at 18 pm at Martim Moniz Square, we will demand:
- a permanent and definitive ceasefire
- an end to the violence by the Israeli military and settlers against Palestinians in the West Bank and Israel
- that the expulsion of the Palestinians from their homeland be prevented
- all necessary humanitarian relief for the Gaza Strip
- the release of all Palestinian prisoners and all Israeli hostages
- an end to the infamous blockade that has turned the Gaza Strip into an open-air prison since 2006
- that the rebuilding of the Gaza Strip be started
- that the right, so often promised but never fulfilled by the international community, to a free and independent Palestinian State with sovereign control of its borders and resources, be finally materialized.
The rally on the 29th will begin with a tribute to the dead of Gaza, prepared by elements of the Palestinian community in Portugal. The programme includes other cultural moments and political statements.
