Jam session com João Pedro Coelho

As jam sessions de 3ª feira contam com um músico convidado que lidera a sessão durante um mês. Em Junho teremos como convidado o pianista João Pedro Coelho.

A sessão começa às 22h30, com um set do grupo residente, passando depois para jam aberta aos músicos que queiram participar. Entrada livre

Matyas Gayer Trio Feat. Ricardo Toscano

Matisa Gayer, one of the most gifted jazz pianists of his generation, with his trio is featuring great young alto player Ricardo Toscano.

Ricardo TOSCANO – alto saxophone

Ricardo, born in Lisbon, began learning clarinet at the age of 8. At the age of 15 he entered the Metropolitan Professional School, having lessons with professors Jorge Camacho, Nuno Gonçalves and João Ramos. As 17 year old he joined the Lisbon Superior School of Music in the over-gifted course.

Toscano attended masterclasses with Danilo Perez, Wynton Marsalis, Greg Osby, João Moreira, Pedro Moreira, Miguel Zenon, Aaron Goldberg, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Joe Lovano, Ben Street, George Garzone, Terence Blanchard and many others …

Recognized in the national jazz scene, he has played with many of the most outstanding names such as Mário Laginha, Mário Barreiros, Carlos Barretto, João Paulo Esteves da Silva, João Moreira, Nelson Cascais, Paula Oliveira, Bruno Santos, Afonso Pais, André Sousa Machado, Mário Delgado, Alexandre Frazão, André Fernandes, José Salgueiro, Júlio Resende, Bruno Pedroso, etc.

In 2013 he formed his own 4tet, having performed in major festivals such as AngraJazz, Estoril Jazz, Casa da Música, Funchal Jazz, PortalegreJazzFest, Centro Cultural de Bethlehem, etc.

His discography includes participations in many studio recordings.

Matyas GAYER – piano

When Gayer turned fourteen, founded his first band and won Hungary’s young talent competition, the Golden Ten Award. In his teenage years, Gayer started his professional musical studies under the tutelage of Karoly Binder (Head of the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest). In 2009 Gayer performed at Umbria Jazz Festival in Perugia.

Matyas won first prize and was awarded a scholarship to Berklee College of Music, Boston Afterwards, Gayer continued his musical studies in Austria, at the University of Performing Arts Graz, under the direction of Olaf Polziehn.

In 2012 the Generations International Jazz Festival selected Gayer for piano and was awarded the opportunity to record a CD in the famous Winterthur Studio in Switzerland and play with some of the jazz world’s elites, including Louis Hayes and Peter Washington. Gayer played at well-known establishments in New York including Something Jazz Club, Smalls Jazz Club and performed with outstanding musicians like David Wong and Jay Leonhart. In both year of 2014 and 2015, Matyas Gayer was finalist at the Montreux Jazz Competition

Matyas HOFECKER– double bass

In 2012, he won a scholarship to the Kunstuniversität Graz where he studied with Wayne Darling. In 2014, he was chosen into the Generations Jazz Camp and Masterclass Workshop in Frauenfeld, Switzerland, where he studied with the great Lewis Nash, Don Friedman, Adrian Mears and Seamus Blake.
In 2015, he recorded a CD with the legendary jazz singer Sheila Jordan.

He toured in Europe with the living jazz-legend Harold Mabern and the great Joe Farnsworth and beside that he worked with Sheila Jordan, Stjepko Gut, Jim Rotondi, Steve Rubie, Rex Richardson, Herwig Gradischnig, Joris Dudli, Christian Salfellner, Oliver Kent, Andy Middleton, Mario Gonzi, Gabor Bolla, Robert Szakcsi-Lakatos, David Hodek, Ondrej Stveracek, Lubos Sramek among many others.

Nemanja DELIC – drums

Nemanja started playing drums at the age of 12. For a couple of years he was taught by the great Prof. Miroslav Karlovic.

In 2008 Nemanja moved to Vienna where he studied drums at the Vienna Konservatorium.

Over the last few years he had a privilege of studying with the great jazz drummers like Steve Brown, Walther Grossrubatscher and Joris Dudli.

Nemanja became a member of the jazz scene in Austria, Germany and Portugal, performing with Claus Raible, Giorgos Antoniou, Anna Lauvergnac (Anna Lauvergnac Quartet), Herwig Gradischnig, Hans Salomon, Matyas Gayer, Matyas Hofecker, Markus Gaudriot, Axel Schmitt, Karol Hodas, Bertl Mayer, Bernhard Wiesinger, Ricardo Toscano, Bruno Santos and many other.
